Today, the world is facing an unprecedented danger with COVID-19. The scale, spread and the long term economic impact of COVID-19 is worrying. As each day unfolds, we hear stories of the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting millions of lives. Amid worst outbreak of COVID-19 across the country, thousands of daily wage workers are left jobless. Meanwhile our teams on ground with support from Kolkata Police and some other organizations are working hard, reaching out to the disadvantaged elders, the homeless, migrant workers, people of transgender community, women trapped in red light areas and poor living in urban slums & villages, providing them with free meals for survival, hygiene kits, free medicines and family survival kits. In the process of feeding people we are trying to ensure that no community is overlooked.
Experts say that a simple homemade mask can prevent upto 100% of the spread of potentially infected micro droplets. If 80% of the population uses a mask the spread of the virus can be stopped immediately. From the very first day of the lockdown BHOR volunteers have started making and distributing homemade masks to those in needs for free.
